Christopher Whitford
Christopher Whitford is a British miniature artist living and working in Worcestershire. Born in Malvern, he received his early training at Malvern College of Art, laying the foundation for a career rooted in close observation and traditional craftsmanship.
He began his professional life in ceramics, training at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, where he specialised in producing limited edition models of cattle and horses. This experience developed both his technical precision and his enduring interest in rural subject matter.
Over time, Whitford’s focus shifted toward painting, where he found a particular affinity for working at a small scale. His long-standing connection to the surrounding countryside continues to inform his subject matter, with an emphasis on carefully observed, intimate studies.
He has exhibited with the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, and his work reflects a consistent commitment to detail, control, and the traditions of British miniature art.
